Windrose

If you’ve ever played Ark: Survival Evolved, you’ll feel right at home in Windrose. At its core, the loop is familiar: survive, craft, and explore. However, instead of dodging T-Rexes, you’re navigating a world filled with giant crabs, aggressive boars, and supernatural pirates.

Unlike many survival games that drop you in with zero direction, Windrose is a questing game at heart. It does a fantastic job of walking you through the basics—until you hit ship building.

Once you get to the ship building you are going to need a Wharf. Everyone has spent hours looking for the Wharf.

The Wharf Warning: This is the one part of the game that stumps everyone. To build your ship, you need a Wharf. You won’t find it in the build menu initially because it is hidden behind a specific requirement: you must place the cannon on your ship first. It’s a bit of a head-scratcher, but once the cannon is set, the Wharf becomes available.

Ruins: Look for chests and collectibles like notes or journals.

Journaling: You can add notes to your permanent record by right-clicking them in your inventory.

The Wind: One of the coolest features is how the wind subtly guides you toward the area you are searching for. It’s a clever, immersive way to handle navigation without constant waypoint-chasing.

You get a skill tree and you will get blue prints also to make better gear and weapons but you can also find better weapons and armor in the chest.

This game is fun. I like how when you die you get a lantern gravestone it makes it helpful to find and see. I also like the wind tries to tell you where the area you are searching for is in a way. The map is huge and explorable.

Teleporter Bells: These are your best friends. Craft one at your main base and carry others to place on distant islands. You can find more in chests, and if you’re playing with friends, you can daisy-chain them to travel across the map instantly.

Resource Grinding: Stock up on Copper, Fur, and Wood. You’re going to need massive amounts of these for your boat upgrades.

Beware the Night: The demo lasts about 4–5 hours, but don’t get cocky. Nighttime is significantly more dangerous, as that’s when the most aggressive enemies emerge.

If you want to give this game a test you can download the demo on steam! However all of the game is not released on it and somethings may change when it fully comes out.

The demo lasted about 4-5 hours and it was so much fun. However I must warn the nighttime is not your friends since that is when most of the enemies come out.

The Windrose demo is available on Steam right now. While it’s only a slice of the full game and things may change before the final release, it’s a high-seas adventure worth your time.
