Marathon is a new revived game that is coming out by bungie. It is a shooter game that is going to be on Pc, PS5, and Xbox. It is supposedly like Halo and Destiny. It is a PVP type game and we are not exactly sure when it is coming out since it is a surprise game. It will have cross play and cross saves which is nice.
Marathon is a first-person shooter video game developed and published by Bungie, and released in December 1994 for the Apple Macintosh. The game takes place several centuries into the future in outer space and sets the player as a security officer attempting to stop an alien invasion aboard a colony ship named the Marathon.

We recently got our hands on the early demo for the new Marathon, and we have to be honest: it’s a lot to take in, and not all of it is good yet. While the gaming world is buzzing about Bungie’s return to its roots, the current state of the game feels a bit rough around the edges.
The “Janky” Reality of PvPvE
Unlike the polished, buttery-smooth movement we’ve come to expect from Destiny 2 or Halo, this new extraction shooter feels surprisingly unrefined.
-
Movement & Gunplay: Currently, the movement feels heavy, and the gunplay has been described by many testers as “janky.” For a high-stakes PvPvE (Player vs Player vs Environment) game where every shot counts, this is a major concern.
-
The Learning Curve: Because it’s an extraction shooter—supposedly similar to games like Escape from Tarkov but with a neon-cyberpunk skin—the stakes are high. If you can’t rely on your character’s movement to dodge AI and players alike, the frustration level climbs quickly.
Is it the Next Halo?
Right now, it’s hard to say. The original Marathon (1994) was a groundbreaking masterpiece of storytelling and atmosphere. This reboot has the “stunning visuals” and the “Bungie pedigree,” but it lacks the mechanical tightness that made their previous shooters legendary. We’re hoping that since the release date is still a “surprise,” Bungie is using this time to overhaul the physics and response times.
