ARK: Survival Ascended has arrived and bringing Scorched Earth
ARK: Survival Ascended has officially launched on Xbox Gamepass and is available on PC and Xbox Series XS, which leaves behind the Xbox One and all crossplay that came with it. The new ARK remaster is a new a reimagined, rebuilt Unreal Engine 5 version of the classic and wildly popular ARK Survival Evolved.
Snail Games is expanding the ARK: Survival Experience with the introduction of the Scorched Earth Expansion Map and Bob’s Tall Tales DLC. Fans who have immersed themselves in the ARK: Animated Series on Paramount+ will also be delighted to find special in-game content inspired by the spinoff, featuring animated skins based on beloved characters from the show.
Bob’s Tall Tales DLC introduces acclaimed actors Karl Urban and Auli’i Cravalho to the adventure. Karl Urban, known for his role in The Boys, lends his voice to the iconic ARK legend Bob, whose “incredibly true adventures” form the centerpiece of this premium DLC. Despite Bob’s status as a novice in the unforgiving world of ARK (symbolized by the term “Bobs” for newcomers), players will uncover his tales of triumph as they discover his animated Explorer Notes, narrated to them by Meeka (voiced by Auli’i Cravalho of Moana fame).
This expansion takes players on a journey across The Island, Scorched Earth, Aberration, and Extinction, unfolding three themed stories. The first installment, Frontier Showdown, invites players to stake their claim on the Scorched Earth, introducing Western-style structures such as a lively saloon equipped with a piano, and even allowing players to ride a steam train through the badlands. Additionally, players will encounter a new dinosaur, the Oasisaur, known for its protective abilities against environmental hazards and hostile creatures. While it cannot shield players from other human adversaries, its rejuvenating pools offer a means to revive fallen pets.
Frontier Showdown launches on April 1, with subsequent stories—Steampunk Ascent and Wasteland Wars—promising to further expand the scope and excitement of Bob’s adventures across The Island, Scorched Earth, Aberration, and Extinction.
