Demonologist is a paranormal game just like Phasmophobia, ghost exile, ghost watchers and the other paranormal games.
This game has some good jump scares and basically has you kind of guessing what ghost are what because a lot of them have identical things but you actually have to look and see cause it will mislead you thinking it’s something else instead of what it is.
In this game to unlock maps, you have to complete objectives and level up so many times to unlock the maps. Just like in Phasmophobia if you complete objectives and guess correctly you will get money to buy a new headquarters, ghost hunting equipment and accessories for your character.
The equipment you get is somewhat questionable since your emf reader is a roach on a piece of wood that basically detects when a ghost is near.
There is a compass looking thing with fire and a glass window that allows you to see ectoplasm and there is a work like that is UV that allows you to see handprints that can show up where ever.
There is also a spinny disk (EGS) that basically materializes the ghost so you can see it and get an reaction.
There is a candle but no lighter. All you do for the candle is left click and it will light it. The spirit box you don’t have to use the push to talk button all you have to do is talk and it will pick up as long as your mic is connected.
There are a lot of other things you can get to help you with your search and investigation which is nice.
You also get to exile ghost and it basically tell you what you will need and how to exile it once you complete the objectives.
There are two different ways to exorcise in this game. One way is to stand on the glowing stars that appear in the game another way is completing all of objectives on the board and then going around the house collecting rats, salt and once you get those fingers will appear and you take them into the basement to burn them in the white vases.
This is great to do with more than one person so that way you can get things done while one is being chased since you can only hold three things at one time. The EMF is also perfect to help with this to detect where the ghost is at all times. You may also need a candle to finish the exorcism.
There are hidden Easter eggs in this game so check for them.
